If you don't have anything worth saying...draw

I don't have much to say for myself today and, as my mother used to frequently tell me: "If you don't have anything worth saying, don't say anything at all!". (To be fair to her, this statement usually came during a long exchange of colourful verbal abuse between my brother and myself). So here are some drawings.

I still haven't made up my mind. Is it better to draw with lots of detail from a photo, erasing allowed...

Or do what people like Danny Gregory suggest; only draw in pen, no corrections possible...even when it results in dodgy proportions...

Or stick with pencil but don't rub out because you're too lazy to go and find an eraser...?

    Love the bum in air pose :-) Your watercolour is gorgeous too.
    So why does he say to use pen and not correct? Is it so you see where you need to improve quickly?!

      Thanks, Sarah :) I think the idea is that you don't spend ages drawing a line then rubbing it out, then drawing and rubbing. It forces you to look and be decisive. And you know what I'm like being 'decisive'!

    Love the baby sketches, especially the bum in the air, and I don't think the proportions are so bad. Pretty little watercolor as well,

      Thanks for the comment Vicki! There have been some proportions-shockers in the past, this one wasn't too bad. Fortunately the model is still too young to develop a complex!

    Though I like them all, I think the no-erase-challenging-pen turned out the most striking! Beautiful strong lines, and so well done that the proportions do not hinder the whole at all.

    I'm of the Danny Gregory school of pen and ink, no erasing. My husband is pencil and a bag of erasers! different styles for different folks. You did well in all three. Do what feels most comfortable for you I'd say. Me it's dive in and what you see is what you get! LOL
